The price of food in Lima is much greater than elsewhere in the country because the city’s cost of living is much higher. Although the quaint markets of the Sierra villages offer the atmospheric prestige, Lima offers the same stuff.
You can find most everything in the capital. This makes Lima an important base of operations for any backpacker who’s looking to undertake the treks and Peruvian adventures waiting out there. Otherwise, Lima is the perfect place to end a trip before the flight home for its selection of souvenirs.

Travelling around is only as great as the people you meet.

Yes, the scenery and the ancient stories hidden in the architectural wonders are of course our reason for traveling in the first place, but those things are made infinitely more wonderful thanks to the good times we share with other backpackers we meet at hostels.

Surf trip Peru

Last week I was in Montreal, in a job I didn’t like too much and didn’t pay enough. I was thinking about my friend Sacha who was currently in Ecuador and Peru trekking and surfing… Ohh I envied him. Snow started falling in Montreal and I got 2 more parking tickets to add up on my 10+ pile of white and red papers …. My only option …. start a surf trip in Peru!!!

slang

At Pariwana hostels, you can impress other guests and the staff by learning a bit of the local Peruvian slang. Just like in every country and region, the local variants of language tend to differ from their immediate neighbors, and even more from their more distant ones.

Peru is no exception to the rule that language is taken and shaped into however the natural tendencies of the locals have seen fit.
